CoderDojo School Holiday Workshop with Fiftysix

CoderDojo Brisbane is excited to announce a special school holiday workshop with local startup Fiftysix.

Fiftysix has developed a “build it yourself” tablet and coding kit which will be introduced into all CoderDojo locations in Term 3. We invite you to join the Fiftysix team and CoderDojo mentors for an exciting workshop where ninjas will have the opportunity to create and innovate using the new technology. You can find out more about Fiftysix here.

Registrations for this event will open at Monday 20 June at 10am on the CoderDojo website. Places will be allocated on a first in, first served basis. Registrations are open to all kids aged 7- 17 years old, there is no prerequisite to have participated in CoderDojo before. Due to popularity of school holiday workshops, it is anticipated that all places will be taken very soon after registrations open. Parents should be online when registrations open if they wish to secure a place.

All materials for this workshop will be provided by the Fiftysix team, so no need to bring anything. However, ninjas must wear their CoderDojo t-shirt. As with all CoderDojo sessions, parents must remain in the library for the duration of the session.

There will be a professional photographer possibly a film crew capturing moments from the day and all ninjas will need a parent/ guardian to complete a Talent Release Form on arrival. If you do not want your child to be photographed, please advise the CoderDojo mentors when you arrive at the library.

We hope to see your ninja at this exciting workshop and look forward to exploring the tablets and coding kits with the Fiftysix team!

Date: Saturday 2 July
Time: 10am-midday
Location: The End Room, Brisbane Square Library, 266 George St, Brisbane CBD

Please email if you have any questions regarding this workshop and registrations.
