CoderDojo at The University of Queensland

CoderDojo Brisbane is excited to present two school holiday workshops in partnership with the University of Queensland. The sessions will take place on Tuesday 29 and Wednesday 30 March at UQ, and will run for 3 hours each morning.

These sessions are suitable for beginners. No experience is required however they are designed for high school kids only, 13- 17 years old. Each session will feature different activities and topics, outlined below.

Tuesday 29 March

The focus on the Tuesday bootcamp will be Scratch programming and physical computing using MakeyMakey invention kits. Students will learn how to program with Scratch and to create an interactive poster by fitting it with wires and programing a MakeyMakey to control the interactions. This workshop is for beginners, so no prior experience is required.

Wednesday 30 March

The Wednesday bootcamp will feature a robotics session. Students will be challenged and required to program their robots through an obstacle course to find a hidden treasure. No prior experience is needed. Mentors in this session will also have capacity to work with students who are more advanced and would like to use Robot C.

When: Tuesday 29 or Wednesday 30 March
Time: 9am- 12pm
